Waves Maxx Bass A/B comparison. This song, "All She Sees" is in the final stages of the recording process. We have the drums, guitars, bass and vocals. Now is the fun part- adding the icing. I asked the artist, John Vurtuno, to bring in the Tal Bachman CD with "She's So High" on it so I could A/B our recording with a similarly styled commercially released recording. I was interested in listening for Elements Of Production such as the type of icing (percussion? incidental keyboards? etc) After A/B-ing our recording with "She's So High" I made a mental note that we needed to add some percussion and melodic interaction, John questioned the lack of fullness (my translation: our recording was lacking in sub bass content). I explained that I would probably add Waves Maxx Bass to the mix during the mastering process. I quickly added Waves Maxx Bass to Digital Performer's master mix buss to show him what Maxx bass can do to the overall bass sound of a mix.
