|
Tube guitar amps usually sound much different when compared to solid state guitar amps. Does audio recording equipment using tube technology have the same amount of variance in the way it effects the sound? How much "warmer" does an all tube mic preamp multitrack recording sound compared to a totally solid state multitrack recording? Does an optical tube compressor really make a recording that sounds "punchier" than a solid state VCA based compressor? How do transformers and capacitors effect the overall sonic quality of a multitrack recording? These are some of the questions addressed by tracks 7-9. Note: Tracks 7 & 8 were tracked without compression, room mics or reverb. Track 9 was tracked using compression but without room mics or reverb .
